Darien Stop & Shop Theft: Victim Left Car For 15 Minutes Before Robber Struck, Police Say

An unsuspecting Stop & Shop customer was the target of a recent motor vehicle burglary, according to police.

A woman parked her car at the Darien Stop & Shop and was in the store for approximately 15 minutes, during which an unknown suspect stole two bags from the car, police said.

It happened in Fairfield County on Monday, Aug. 7 at approximately 3 p.m., according to the Darien Police Department.

A woman parked her car at the Darien Stop & Shop located at 25 Old Kings Highway North and reportedly went into the store for about 15 minutes.

When she returned to her car, she noticed that two of her bags were missing.

The woman’s car was unlocked, police said.

Officers have not released further information regarding the suspect or the status of the stolen items.
